The Lafayette Leopards and the Last Crusade

One year ago, the Lafayette football team found itself with a late fourth quarter lead against the Holy Cross Crusaders. Tailback DeAndre Morrow '10 ran in for a 26 yard touchdown with less than three minutes remaining in the fourth, and the Leopards were in prime position to take down one of the top Patriot League teams, leading 26-20.

Swimmers look to fly past competition

Lafayette swimming and diving is already three meets into the season after holding an Alumni meet on October 24, competing at Loyola- Maryland on October 31, and at Navy on November 7. The meet that the team looks forward to the most is when it squares of with the Lehigh Mountain Hawks this Friday in Bethlehem, Pa.

Students should look for healthier energy stimulants

With class from 9:00 a.m. until noon, an afternoon lab, club sport practice, and then two club meetings, sometimes the only way to study for that big midterm tomorrow is by pulling an all-nighter. While most would love to plan ahead, this is not always possible given the busy schedule of the typical Lafayette student and the inherent need of any college student to procrastinate as long as possible.

Each week, Lafayette athletes do great things on the playing field that earn them extra recognition. In the past few weeks, this star made the news for his outstanding accomplishments. The common sports motto says that records are made to be broken, and Rob Curley '10 is no exception to that rule.

Leopards' run ends with title game loss

After tying the game at 2-2, the Leopards beat Bucknell 3-2 in overtime to advance to the Patriot League Tournament final against American. Looking to clinch their eighth league title, Lafayette was unable to contain the Eagles who scored a goal in each half to win the Patriot League Tournament for the seventh time by beating the Leopards 2-0.

Football wins thriller over Colgate Raiders

On a day when quarterback Rob Curley '10 threw a career best seven touchdowns and 373 yards, it was an interception that proved to be the turning point in Lafayette's 56-49 victory over Colgate. After the Leopards surrendered a 14 point lead, Curley and the offense drove the ball to the Colgate 22 and faced a key second and ten with the score tied and the game on the line.

Men's soccer clinches tournament berth

The men's soccer team needed a win over Navy Saturday to keep their Patriot League tournament hopes alive. They came through in the clutch scoring a 3-0 victory to earn a tournament berth. The Leopards got goals from Nick Leigh '10, Wayne Maminski '12, and Blake Fink '13 and a shutout from goalie Philip Nelson '10 in the victory.
